On what operating system should I install SYGESP®?
SYGESP® runs equally well on Windows 2003 Server and Mac OS X Server.
Which Web browsers are compatible with it?
SYGESP® supports the following Web browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and higher and Apple Safari 2.0 and higher. The additional (plug-in) components Adobe FLash and Sun Java are required in order to make use of all of the platform's features.
How does SYGESP® manage ramp-up?
SYGESP® includes the IDSConnector software engine developed by Goaland. This allows it to launch as many instances of InDesign CS4 as needed and to manage these instances by sharing the load among each of them.
What types of files does InDesign Server handle?
All of the file types handled by the client version of InDesign CS4 are fully supported by InDesign CS4 Server.
How does SYGESP® manage fonts?
A module included in SYGESP® serves to manage the fonts installed on the server. In order to guarantee full compatibility of InDesign documents for Windows and Mac OS, we recommend that you use Open Type type fonts.
Which output formats are generated by SYGESP®?
SYGESP® generates exports of your documents to PDF (defined by the jobOptions files in InDesign CS4), JPEG, HTML and XML.
